Gelsadora

The Villain: Galactor Leader #2

Gelsadora

Gelsadora is nothing more than an overgrown child. In episode 1 of Gatchaman II, Sosai X attacked an ocean liner, kidnapped the three-year-old Sammie Pandora, and aged her into his newest commander. Unfortunately, she acts a great deal like a child with an extended case of the terrible twos. She whines and complains and even throws temper tantrums, particularly when her predecessor, Katse, comes up. (Stomping on a picture of Katse is not beneath her.) Her costume and voice combine to create a convincing picture of a misplaced circus clown, but she does have some compellingly sadistic ideas, and is at times quite the antagonist.

Though she has tons of gold hair spilling from the sides of her mask, her voice is extremely masculine, and she towers over everyone else, even Ken and Joe. Like Katse, she has a soft feminine mouth; unlike Katse, she has skin that would make an albino look fresh and pink. When the mask finally comes off, she is, like Katse, quite beautiful.

The Eagle Riders version of the show has Sosai X recreating Mallanox into Happyboy (Egobossler) when Mallanox fails. This is a somewhat bizarre means of transitioning between the two villains (who, one must note, are of different genders).
